“I really liked that you were blunt with your corrections, but allowed me to keep aspects of my essays that I liked, but you disagreed with. This really helped me to feel confident in my essays and that they were mine. I When we worked on my essays I never once felt that the essays were not my own. I never felt rushed to submit an essay that I wasn't confident in because we would take as much time as necessary to work out the mistakes and refine them.”

“My favorite part about working with you was the feedback that was given on how to research the different colleges and figure out ones that I like.”

“The most surprising thing was how I was able to get it all done and how I feel like working together was less stressful than I thought the whole process was going to be. \ I was not afraid to mess u por ask for help. I never fell behind as I had consistent encouragement.”

“My son was stressed and unhappy about the whole college idea, which then made his parents stressed. Our favorite part of working with Debbie was that we, as his parents, were not the sole recipients of his frustration. Debbie guided his unique voice in his essays, especially the common app essay, which represented so much of his authentic self.”

“Debbie did a great job of guiding A to really think about who she is and what she wants... and to be realistic about the process... and to remind her that the process is just that - a process - applications are not people, they're a snap shot on paper. Acceptances (and more importantly, rejections) are not about the student. I also think Debbie did a great job of finding schools that she wouldn't have found on her own. A wanted someone who was data and strategy oriented - not just a cheerleader. A really liked your approach. I also liked having the updates!”

“Applying to college often becomes a "charged" topic and Debbie provided the perfect buffer. She keeps the students on track in terms of the timeline of applying. She has a very gentle way of doing this, being very aware of how stressed the kids are these days. She will communicate directly with your student via text and also keep you, the parent, up to date with detailed notes from each meeting with your student. In summary, we were extremely thankful that Debbie was with us throughout the entire college application process.”

“My favorite part about working together was that in additional to getting great help from you, I got to know you a little. I liked listening to your stories about your college experiences because it helped me understand what different campuses looked like.”

“I was very happily surprised that by breaking up the work at regular intervals, it made the process more manageable. I also appreciated that S could seek your advice at short notice.”

“I loved how supportive and motivational you were. You kept me on task and guided me through this overwhelmingly long process. On top of that, you have the kindest personality and I loved sharing my life with you whilst writing my essays!”

“Unfortunately, the application process is not uniform nor are the various tools and requirements cohesive or do they even make sense at times, so it really seemed daunting at first. Debbie helped take away all the anxiety in the confusing, convoluted process, and kept my child focused and on schedule.”

“Throughout my college journey, Debbie was incredibly supportive, from her fast responses to our creative discussions and brainstorms as well as her expertise in my areas of interest including scientific research and medical school. Debbie was truly an amazing college counselor. She empowered me to make my own choices for my future while making sure I was well informed.”

“Debbie helped my daughter with all aspects of the college application process. She was especially helpful with applying for financial aid and with evaluating financial aid offers. As a result my daughter received a very generous financial aid package from her first choice school and will be able to go there.
Thank you Debbie! We are greatly appreciative of your assistance during the last couple years.”

“Without hesitation I would recommend the parent to work with Debbie. 1. Structure 2. Quality and rate of communication 3. Availability, timely responses to questions 4. A person the student/applicant can trust and someone whom the student can speak with in confidence”

“Ms. Moritz was an amazing help throughout my college application process! She helped me stay organized and minimize stress through a very stressful process, and was very accessible if I ever had any questions, always making time to help me. She was a huge help from square one, giving me insight into schools I was thinking about and helping me to craft my college list. Her comments helped me come up with essays that I was very happy with and ultimately allowed me to get into Cornell, my first choice college! I am so thankful for all the assistance she gave me.”

“Debbie has been an invaluable resource to me and my son over the past 2 years. She fielded 1000s of questions from us and most impressively, if she did not know the answer, did comprehensive research on the topic and delivered it in a timely manner. Her guidance about essay topics ( especially which topics to avoid) urged my son on to write something unique and meaningful and no doubt helped him gain acceptance to the highly selective college of his choice.”

“Ms. Moritz was an outstanding college counselor! She really took the time to get to know me so that she could help me identify the schools and programs that fit best. She also provided extremely useful information and went out of her way to research additional options for me. When it came to writing my applications, Ms. Moritz gave me excellent advice and helped me convey my voice through my essays. I could always count on her to answer my questions promptly and provide last minute edits. Even when pressured for time (my fault) her comments were thoughtful and deliberate. I could not have asked for a more dedicated counselor! I would 100% recommend her to any college applicant.”
